EFERT exists to convene, coordinate, organize, and engage the Elkhart community and beyond in realizing a just climate transition. 

EFERT, the acronym, stands for two phrases.

They are both about realizing a just climate transition. One is deeply local, that is, Eco-Friendly Elkhart. However, we can't do it on our own and want to learn from other places and peoples. And we in Elkhart have some gifts to offer the broader climate justice movement! Therefore, the other acronym is Eco-Friendly Everywhere.

Elkhart, Indiana occupies traditional Potawatomi land.
